YINA: Hello everyone! I am Yina Munoz, Founder and Owner at ALLabout Representation – a luxury boutique sales representation company! ALLabout collection has partners in Mexico, The Caribbean, Europe and Africa. Representation Companies are an extension of hotel and DMC sales teams. I take pride in supporting independent, family-owned luxury hotels and DMCs that are sustainable and unique. The most recent addition to the ALLabout Collection Family is Monte-Carlo SBM with their iconic hotels: the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Monte-Carlo Beach, and the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
CIRE: Ooh! Monte-Carlo is a dream… Where did you grow up, Yina?
YINA: I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. However, I now call Port Washington, New York my home where I live with my husband Christian and my two kids – Erica (10) and Sebastian (4). Port Washington is a lovely coastal town in the north shore of Long Island. Summers in Port Washington are so much fun: tons of activities, the town dock comes alive as water-side restaurants and local ice cream shops re-open their doors for the season. I love a morning stroll along the town dock or taking my kids on a little boat ride around the sound with the PW Water Taxi.
CIRE: Love that you’re getting your littles into traveling (even if it’s just around the north shore). How old were you when you realized you wanted to get into the travel & hospitality business?
YINA: Since middle school! I remember it was career day at school and a senior that had just been accepted to hospitality school spoke about the importance of tourism for community growth and how impactful tourism can be in the economic ecosystem of a whole country. I was HOOKED! I knew I wanted to be part of the industry that helps lift other industries! And now connecting with advisors and getting to know them beyond the business is truly what I enjoy most, and also coming up with creative ideas to better market a hotel or destination.
CIRE: A life-long travel nerd! Just like us! What’s the best trip you ever went on?
YINA: I have to say Africa! WOW WOW WOW! It truly deserves those WOWs! It’s a continent that bursts with vibrant cultures, exotic landscapes, and an energy that’s impossible to ignore. Tanzania is a treasure. I went on safari in the Serengeti. It was an absolute dream. It’s a place where the sheer scale of the wildlife and the vastness of the plains leaves you in awe, constantly reminding you of the raw beauty of nature. I saw prides of lions, tons of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a Cheetah! Africa has a way of leaving a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to visit!
CIRE: An African safari truly is life changing. And a hard vacation to beat! Where is your next vacation?
YINA: Greece! For my client’s wedding. I represent BlissTravel a fabulous boutique Greece DMC. Eugenia Pereira is the owner and she is getting married in Mykonos! My husband has never been, so I am excited to show him Athens, Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini! I am super excited to introduce him to a true Souvlaki, as well as the breathtaking views of Santorini. Experiencing that together is something we will never forget!
CIRE: Greece is amazing and really does live up to the hype. With all your world travels, any tips to share with our world-traveling clients?
YINA: Invest in GOOD luggage. Always carry on (when possible). And if you have to check a luggage, remember to put in an Apple AirTag! Hydrate on long hauls. Say YES to compression socks!
CIRE: Compression socks! We have heard so much about their benefits. (Adding to our Amazon cart…) How do you prep for those really long flights?
YINA: On a long haul from LAX to Melbourne, Australia – I was SO prepared to entertain myself during the flight that I bought adult coloring books, face masks, board games, et cetera. The person sitting next to me was like “this lady must be crazy!” I truly felt his eyes were rolling at all the activities I had prepared for this flight, but in my mind, I was like, “whatever”! I will never see this stranger again. Then, turns out that not only are we checking in at the same hotel, but he was another hotelier attending this travel conference. I saw him EVERY DAY for the rest of the trip!
CIRE: Oh my goodness! Just when you think you can travel incognito…LOL! Other than traveling (and adult coloring books), what do you like to do in your spare time?YINA: Tennis is my love language, and I also love baking custom cakes! I make killer watermelon margaritas, too (because why not?!)
