CIRE to the Rescue: Volume 1

You are working with the best team of travel professionals in the business.  I don’t have to tell you how good our team is, but I think we could all use some happy news and inspiring stories right about now…

  • When the Level 4 Travel Advisory came out from the State Department last week, we needed to repatriate 45 clients who were traveling internationally.  Our team got them all booked on flights within two hours.  Every last one of them is now back on US soil.
  • We had a non-client, but a friend-of-a-friend (Sally), at risk of being stranded in St. Maarten when it was announced that the SXM airport was closing.  Sally couldn’t get her airline on the phone and there weren’t any rebooking options on their website.  Desperate, Sally reached out to CIRE to see what we could do.  We got her a seat on a flight home for the next day (one of the last), gave her peace of mind, and threw in a few CIRE perks, too.  Exhibit A… 

  • We rescued two honeymoon couples – one from South Africa and one from Thailand – getting them home once the Level 4 advisory was announced, and we also were able to arrange refunds for the majority of their unused hotel accommodations.  Exhibit B…

Other highlights:

  • We were able to refund in full a family trip for nine people who were scheduled to go to Antigua in April.  They didn’t pay a single penalty and we were able to get them all their money back.
  • A client of ours had plans to take his daughter to Germany the first week of April for a special bucket list concert.  The concert was rescheduled for the end of the year.  We were able to get them a full credit for every part of the trip.
  • Another client’s daughter was on a study abroad program in Denmark.  We had a heads up that Denmark was closing its borders and got their daughter on a flight before the announcement hit the media, before seats were limited and prices skyrocketed.
