Happy Summer! With sunshine and warm temperatures finally here, there’s a renewed energy in the air! As more travelers swap work-a-day routines for vacation relaxation and begin their summer getaways, I’ve been thinking about something that’s always top of mind for us in the travel industry: the difference between hospitality and customer service.

I recently read Setting the Table by Danny Meyer, award-winning restaurateur and the visionary behind Shake Shack. The book is a powerful blend of his personal story and business insight, centered on his philosophy of “Enlightened Hospitality” – putting people first to build thriving, resilient businesses. It’s about leadership, hospitality, and the kind of excellence that starts with empathy. It reminds me that in my own business, success isn’t just about building something great, but it’s about showing up with heart and serving others in ways that create lasting impact and community.
