The Décor
“I would call the décor at Bahama House tasteful boho beach style (remember, it’s your rich aunt’s house who has amazing taste!). While the individual bedrooms are small, it’s intentional. Eleven Experience focuses the guest experience. The idea is you’re not holed up in your room for your stay. There’s tons of communal space throughout the property designed for you to mingle with others and get outside in the air, in nature, etc. The Tiki & Rum Bar is the best watering hole for great drinks and great chats.”
The Food
“No surprise here…the seafood at Bahama House was out of this world! Don’t pass up the opportunity for a traditional Bahamian family-style meal with fresh fish, the best fried chicken I’ve ever had, delicious plantains, and so much more. We were rolling back to our rooms after dinner! Off property, Queen Conch was out of this world and everyone’s top local restaurant recommendation.”
The Drinks
“You must try a Goombay Smash! Make sure you have ‘The Surgeon’ prepare it for you. There’s also an excellent rum lounge tucked away in the living room with quite the collection! Pop in for a rum tasting. And don’t miss Après before dinner! It’s their version of Happy Hour… You’ll always be met with wonderful drinks, delicious appetizers, and great conversation with guests and bartenders alike. My favorite time of day!”
Top Tip
“Don’t overbook yourself! Seriously! So many guests plan something for every day but once they arrive, island time settles into your bones, and you just want to lounge on the beach all day or frolic in the clear, blue water. That said, don’t miss island hopping on the Scorpion Boat—you see and learn so much about the area, plus the skipper and captain are some of the coolest people.”
